Eyes on the Ave containR Installation
This is your Calgary.
This is your Forest Lawn.

On October 2, 2016 Springboard Performance’s containR Art Park and International Avenue Arts and Culture Centre (IAACC) launched the Eyes on the Ave containR art installation which looks out onto Calgary from the corner of 17 th Ave SE and 26 St SE.

Antyx Community Arts partners with us to show a fresh perspective of Forest Lawn with her rich and vibrant mix of peoples that make up the community. Eyes on the Ave asks, “What’s your Forest Lawn look like?” This installation will be on site at the pop-up up home of The Arts Recreation and Community Hub (ARCH) through March 2017.

Eyes on the Ave is a collaborative partnership between Springboard Performance’s containR Art Park, Antyx Community

Arts and The ARCH.

Springboard Performance provides the containR team, project management and creative expertise and devised the sculptural containR structure.

Antyx Community Arts youth participants created the photographs, with the Smile Gang assisting with wheat pasting images onto the containers.

The ARCH provides containers, production support, and the location: the ARCH explores spaces and places where arts, recreation and community come to play!

Special thanks to the many faces that comprise our communities, The Smile Gang, The Calgary Foundation, The City of Calgary, Calgary Arts Development, Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Canada Council for the Arts, Canadian Heritage.
