This February, Springboard Performance is presenting The answer is land by Sami Artists Elle Sofe Sara Company from Norway. In an effort to provide enriching experiences between our community members and our visiting artists, Springboard is offering a workshop with Nora Svenning, an Elle Sofe Sara Company performer.
Nora Sveninng is a contemporary dancer with a background in classical ballet. She has worked with choreographers/companies such as Panta Rei Dance Theater, Sølvi Edvardsen, Astrid Serine Hoel, Frikar, and has toured nationally and internationally. Svenning also creates her own work, most recently the full-length piece Liminaria in 2023.
Svenning works with Sara as a dancer and with generating movement material. Their collaboration started in 2017 during the production of Jielemen Aavoe.
Svenning is based in Oslo, Norway.
The workshop starts with a warm up designed to both increase connection and sensitivity with your body and the space, as well as getting warm and ready for the rest of class. We will move on to improvisation-based tasks and exercises, and end with learning a section of choreography from Vástádus eana - The answer is land by Elle Sofe Sara.
