Ezgi Türker · Creator/Performer
Ezgi Turker (she/hers) is a newcomer Turkish performance artist based in Calgary/Mohkinstsis. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in political science and she has her contemporary dance training from different studios, techniques and styles. She performed in established choreographers’ works in local and international dance festivals in Turkiye. She co-created the collective, aeigis, which has been creating lecture-performances on contemporary dance history. In her solo works, she focused on social issues about climate crisis, community building and grief. Since her arrival in Canada/Turtle Island, she has been presenting her solo work in various venues. As a performance artist, she sees arts as a catalyzer for impact, allowing to communicate complex concepts to wider audience by embodiment.
