WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

Taught by one of Canada’s premiere dancing duos, Karen and Allen thrive on inspired moments, where catching risk in motion and instantaneously responding to a series of impulsive actions guide their dance. Feasting on a range of movement possibilities, they focus on the dance that is elicited from both movers and witnesses, investigating gesture and movement infused by identity and meaning, ripening our physical presence in the world. The foundation of the warm ups, lead us through their aesthetic of their sensorial approach and Kaeja Elevations, practicing articulate and sophisticated responses to the point of contact, multi-level movement and escalating the opportunities for momentum through the unpredictability of the moment.
